Not too hot, not too cold

It was boiling hot on Tuesday and today it's a little chilly...
but yesterday was perfect for an outdoor photo shoot with two adorable curious kids.

They were too cute finding dandelions, playing in the woods, and chasing geese.

Thank you Mariesa, for spending a couple hours outside with me while we captured the cuteness of your kids.

This weather is hit-or-miss...

...and we got a miss!

Remember waaaay back in December when there was a drawing for a photo session and 8x10 for anyone who signed up to receive the Brown Eyed Photography newsletter?
Well! Caitlin, the prize winner, has been waiting out the weather for something warmer before taking advantage of her photo session with her family. While crisp snowy images sounded appealing... a less-than-two-year-old-who-hates-wearing-mittens was not sounding appealing to Caitlin.
And it's spring now, right?
So we scheduled a session for a bright sunny weekend morning....

...and it was f.r.e.e.z.i.n.g. Note the adorable coat wearing family of three.
True, it was sunny.
Deceptive.
Because it was also incredibly windy.

The cold/windy factor was hurting my bare hands and poor almost-two-year-old Madeleine was feeling the cold too... and not appreciating it. We made a quick decision to re-schedule for a warmer day.
Caitlin and her husband, Christian, chose this beautiful park to have their photo session and I can't wait to go back for part II.

Thank you Caitlin, Christian, and Madeleine for a speedy photo session at this wonderful location. I am very excited about meeting you there again for round two.

New in New Hampshire

Remember Dani?
She and her husband, Brian, are the proud new parents of Miss Morgan.

Morgan was one of the few newborns to sleep for me. Most newborns are wide awake when it's time for pictures. Parents are always shocked that their previous sleep-the-majority-of-day-light-hours are now wide awake and not even close to sleepy.
Not Morgan.
She fell asleep soon after I arrived and stayed asleep for the majority of our photo shoot.

Her family is very excited to meet her. Right before I arrived Morgan's aunt, uncle, and 19month-old cousin left after spending the weekend with their new niece/cousin. While I was there another aunt/uncle arrived for a visit. And as I was packing up one of the granmother's arrived to spend the week with Morgan and the new parents! What a popular lady!
I guess I'm not the only one who can't get enough of tiny baby features including these perfect little hands...

Congratulations Brian and Dani. Morgan is adorable! I am so excited to watch her grow into her own little person. Thank you for having me over to do pictures- especially when Morgan has so many others who want to spend some time with her.

Family International

Tod and Noor, who are currently living in Europe, are visiting the States for a couple of weeks spending time with family in friends. They managed to squeeze in a couple hours with Brown Eyed Photography, and the talented Kate from MKD Photography.
Tod and Noor are so sweet to everyone and completely adorable with each other....

...even with two kids in traveling with them (their travel includes an 8 hour plane ride here and a 10 hour plane ride home!)

Their son looks just like Tod....

...and their daughter looks just like Noor.

Adorable!
(We got this great expression when Tod was pretending to be a moose. Who knew? Pretend to be a moose and kids will laugh like there is nothing funnier!)

Thank you, Noor and Tod for taking time out of your busy schedule to spend some time with us doing pictures. Enjoy the rest of your trip!
