We meet again

I met up with Baby Jack and his family at Waterplace Park in Providence, RI on Sunday for a mini-shoot. I know, I couldn't believe it either- but Jack is now 6 months old and very busy taking in all the sights and sounds of the world. I was very impressed with Jack and his family as they were dressed in jeans and didn't look like they were melting (although they felt it!) in the 90degree temps.

And here's some more of the 6 month old who surprised me at the end by sitting by himself!

Thank you Jack, Rebecca, and John for coming out for a mini-shoot heat and all. I loved seeing you again and seeing how much Jack has grown.

So many nicknames for one 3 month old!

Zinnia's fabulous parents met up with me yesterday for a mini shoot in a peaceful state park in East Providence. Zinnie's (or is it Zinny's?) first three months have been awesome for her parents- they are glowing. There's no other way to say it.
Rebecca and Wayne were hoping for some 3 month pictures of Zin but we also got some pretty rockin shots of the whole family of three.

I love Zinnia's look of wonder in the picture on the right.

These two could barely keep their eyes off their baby girl. They are so so in love with her!

Thank you Rebecca, Wayne, and Zinnia. It was lovely getting to know you!

Baby Ethan staying cool

Ethan is the tiniest newborn Brown Eyed Photography has worked with. At 2oz lighter than Frankie- it's close but Ethan comes out a little smaller- and just as adorable! We met at Ethan's house (on a street that google maps doesn't know exists, interestingly enough) and enjoyed a couple hours of talking about the early days of being a mom and capturing the cute-factor of this little guy.

and this cooperative little guy even opened his eyes to get some awake pictures for his momma.

Thank you, Tara, for having me do Ethan's newborn pictures. Congratulations again!

And now they are four!

Shalonne and Warren scheduled a session way back at the beginning of the summer when they knew their newest family addition would have made an appearance (and by scheduling when they did they were able to take advantage of a special they heard about through the Brown Eyed Photography Newsletter). Baby Anika was a trooper at 3 weeks old and her newly turned-two brother, Sam was a happy puddle jumper. Anika is a perfect addition to this easy-going family.

And I know it's 90+degrees today but fall is coming... see what I found on our meander through the woods....

Thank you Shalonne, Warren, Sam, and Anika, for a relaxing- if not buggy- morning in Little Compton, RI.

Enter... Senior Sarah

Joe invited Sarah to come and have her senior pictures done while he was having his done. Turned out Sarah is dating Jonah, Lisette's son. It's a small world, and all that. Sarah is adorable and was up for anything I suggested. She is actually an aspiring photographer an had done her research about what type of portraits she wanted. When I asked if she had any other ideas that we hadn't tried she said we covered them all. Loved being on the same page as her.

Group shoot morphs into...

a Portrait Party!
What's that, you say?
Well, it started with a conversation with my sister-in-law-class-of-2010. While up in Vermont (where said sil lives) during our recent trip I suggested she get a group together for a fun group shoot.
She thought it was a great idea.
Then I said- tell them to bring their bathing suits and we can have a fire, cook s'mores- all that.
Oh! And a "Fauxto Booth"... but more on that in a future blog post.
Thus the morphing into a portrait party.
Three girls arrived on time early so we started with some fun girl-only shots.

And the whole crowd...

One of the girls wanted to hold a flower. We did several fun shots with flowers and I think this might be my favorite...

Thank you,Chelsea, Kyrstyn, Debbie, Alana, Katie, Nick, and Chris! I loved loved getting to know you all and can't wait to see you next time we're up doing senior pictures (September 19th and 20th is the next scheduled weekend, if you're asking).

If anyone else is interested in finding out more about how they can host their own Photo Party, contact me. It's not only fun for seniors... for instance - as pre-bachelorette party when everyone is dolled up and ready to go. Awesome Brown Eyed Photography gifts for you and your party friends included!

Sabina is here!

Sonja thought her due date was July 11. The baby was measuring for July 11. Sonja's previous babies both came early- one even came a whopping (not good) 10 weeks early. (Here you can see that his early arrival doesn't slow him down now!)
So when July 11 came and went.... and then some, Sonja was feeling very done. At least that's what she said. To everyone else she seemed impressively patient and even cool as the summer finally arrived in New England.
Ten days later the amazing Sabina arrived after a... wait for it... 1 hour and 15 minute birth process! - all vernix covered and looking like she was right on time. I am so excited that Sonja has a girl (a surprise) to balance male contingent in her family.

And a yawn...

Thank you Sonja, so much, for having me come and hang out with the very sleepy Sabina.

Love,
